Beatrice Mikkola, B.Kin (Honours)
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Beatrice grew up in Mississauga, Ontario where she was highly involved in a variety of sports as well as theatre programs. Her sport of choice was gymnastics, which she grew up coaching, earning her Level 1 Artistic as well as her Level 1 and 2 Trampoline coaching certifications while she gathered over 13 years of coaching experience.
During her post graduate studies, she traveled to the University of Auckland where she studied eccentric loading as well as international health care. In addition to her studies, Bea continued to stay active in the gymnastics community and competed for the Humber Hawks Power Cheerleading team in 2013. In 2014, she graduated from Guelph-Humber University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiolology and a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion. She then completed her Kinesiologist Examination and is now a member of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
After graduating, Bea, her boyfriend Will, and their Saint Bernard Bo, packed up and moved to the west coast where they settled in Revelstoke, BC. For two years, Bea enjoyed trail running, hiking and skiing, while bartending and working at a physiotherapy clinic to support her outdoor lifestyle. In the Fall of 2016, she moved to Calgary to work at Peak Power as an intern. Upon the completion of her internship, she was offered a full time position as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
During the summer of 2017, Bea took a few months off to complete an 8000km cycle across Canada for cancer awareness. Currently she is enrolled in Massage Therapy school and continues to work full time at Peak as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
