Carla Robbins

After moving from Canada's California - Kelowna, BC, Carla attended the University of Calgary in 2007 to start her journey in the industry of Kinesiology. Since then, she hasn't left, and continues to call Calgary, AB, home.

Since completing her Undergrad in Kinesiology, Carla went on to complete her CSEP-CEP certification as a certified exercise physiologist, as well as her specialized Master's of Kinesiology (MKin), rounding out her practical skills and applications of exercise physiology, strength, and conditioning. Her skills span a spectrum of understanding chronic disease and specialized exercise interventions, to elite athletic performance. Her recent ventures have allowed her to specialize on athletic populations. While she currently is the lead strength and conditioning coach with the Dino's Women's Hockey team, she has previously, and still currently works with a range of athletes from sports including but not limited to, tennis, ringette, bobsleigh, skeleton, cycling, synchronized swimming, University-level swimming, figure skating, soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics, softball, volleyball, triathlon, running, and snowboard.

Her passion lies in improving people's movement, strength, and fitness for enhanced performance. She believes that everyone can benefit from planned, periodized, and scientifically grounded exercise programs. A little knowledge bomb can go a long way when explaining to her clients the reasoning behind her programming and movement feedback, and teaching them a little more about their bodies every day.

"[An athlete] doesn't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - T Roosevelt.

When she's not at work - you can find Carla running, skate skiing, snowboarding, and playing in the Rocky Mountains. She recently finished her first marathon in Calgary, and plans to increase her furthest trail race distance from 29k to a 50k ultra marathon in the next few years. You'll also find her travelling the globe when she's not in Calgary!
